- FA26 ENGL / ESE 477 - Advanced Environmental Writing - Gillen D'Arcy Wood - At a time when climate change, the toxic contamination of earth, air, and sky, and biodiversity loss threaten human communities worldwide, environmental communication has emerged as a critical vocation. In 477, students learn how to write with impact about environmental issues as career preparation in science and sustainability communication, environmental journalism, and/or environmental advocacy and management. With an emphasis on connecting our personal lives and campus life to global environmental problems, 477 helps students build the research and writing skills they will need as communicators and career advocates for environmental sustainability. 477 is the second of three courses in the Certificate in Environmental Writing (see iSEE website).
