Economic Development: Theory and Evidence

Credit: 4 hours.

Broad examination of economic development, integrating both micro and macro perspectives. Explores factors that drive economic growth and influence development outcomes across countries. Students will analyze key challenges, evaluate development policies, and consider the role of empirical methods in assessing economic progress. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of the patterns of development and the policy approaches aimed at fostering economic growth and reducing global disparities.

Prerequisite: ECON 500, ECON 501, ECON 502 and ECON 503, or consent of instructor.
