Innovation, Design, Engineering and Analysis Projects (Longitudinal)

IDEA—Innovation, Design, Engineering, and Analysis—is a required course designed to integrate medicine and innovation starting in the preclerkship year (Year 1) through the clinical immersion year (Year 3), giving students the knowledge and opportunities needed to create novel solutions that advance patient care. The course prepares students to identify unmet needs and apply systematic, innovation-driven methods to create effective and meaningful solutions in healthcare.

0 to 6 professional hours. Approved for S/U grading only. May be repeated in separate semesters to a maximum of 15 hours. Prerequisite: Restricted to students enrolled in Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
