Section Title:
Art permissions for Ed, School
Section Info:
Art permissions for education, school, and other socially engaged practices. What new permissions do contemporary art forms give educational and educationally-adjacent practices? Through a robust study of conceptual art gestures—including but not limited to participatory, socially engaged, dialogic, performance, and activist art—the class will collectively describe and activate new tools at the intersection of art and teaching. Yes, we will do this first and foremost for our own art and educational practices, but through public forums like publishing, “exhibition”, performance, collaborations, and a culminating zoomposium, the participants in this course will also offer their semester-long findings to the wider world of like-minded and curious practitioners. A pliable posture is preferred for participation in this course over any particular art or school skills.
Restriction(s):
Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
