The objective of this course is to introduce military-connected students to the subject of career development and to provide opportunities that enable them to land a career and succeed in the workplace. This course provides an overview of the civilian and federal job search process, resources for creating effective resumes and cover letters, interview preparation, job negotiations, professional networking and knowledge of various industries and organizations. Additionally, employee rights and benefits to include retirement programs will be discussed in detail, as well as tips for business-related functions, workplace challenges and situations, increasing your salary, and the importance of finding a mentor(s) early in your academic career. Registered students will be contacted to schedule the weekly in-person session.

The training aims to help veterans and military connected rebuild purpose, structure, and confidence as they navigate life after military service. Participants will develop practical skills in time management, financial wellness, and long term retirement planning tailored to the unique needs of veterans. The program also equips them to understand and access key VA benefits and community resources. Additionally, veterans will learn strategies to overcome imposter syndrome and strengthen self advocacy in civilian environments. Overall, the course supports a smooth, informed, and empowered transition into the next chapter of life. Registered students will be contacted to schedule the weekly in-person session.
