Section Info:
Introduction to CNC milling and turning using CAD/CAM software. The course will primarily focus on machining fundamentals and the manufacturing process starting at zero. The basic topics, in addition to CAM software, are speeds/feeds, tap/drill calculations, cutting tool selection, tool table/tool magazine setup, work coordinate setup, work probing, etc. The course is primarily hands-on, either CAM programming or hands-on with the machine. There is both individual and group work expected. Other than the listed prerequisite, no experience is necessary. **The course is not designed for individual and/or student group projects at this time** Prerequisite- AE 140 or equivalent CAD course Due to limited space, applications will be reviewed for selection.

This course will prepare students for an international learning exchange with travel to Cape Town, South Africa. The course will cover expectations, preparing students culturally and logistically, and assisting student with articulating their experience for future personal and professional goals.
