Elementary Yiddish
Section Info:
This is the second term of the two-year Yiddish language sequence. You will continue to improve your speaking, reading and writing skills through the acquisition of more complicated grammatical structures and idiomatic expressions. You will expand your vocabulary and learn to talk about ideas and emotions. You will become acquainted with simple folk tales and modern Yiddish texts taken from literature, music, history, theater, and journalism. We will continue to immerse ourselves in Live Yiddish through recordings and clips. This section is offered through the BTAA Course Share Program hosted by University of Michigan and will be video-conference/Zoom/online taught for participating universities. Student(s) should coordinate with instructor for Zoom Link. Spring 2025 (1/8/25 - 4/22/25).
