Languages and Cultures of the Mediterranean” covers relations of over a dozen languages and cultures of the Mediterranean, where civilizations have intermingled and competed for thousands of years. These interactions are still crucial to understanding contemporary events in the Mediterranean countries as well as in other parts of Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East. The area continues to be a crossroads for the exchange of knowledge, languages and culture.
