SHOW FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE

Instruction in developing research-based arguments of moderate complexity within a special topics format. Introduction to the use of multimodal or other non-print resources as evidence in written arguments.

Prerequisite: Completion of campus Composition I general education requirement.

Section Info: Rhetoric 233 focuses on developing a researched argument in different genres. This section's special topic is the use of large language models in different academic disciplines. Students will research and craft arguments about the use of large language models either in their chosen field or in a field they have a strong interest in. The class culminates in writing an argument recommending guidelines their chosen field should use for the use of LLMs, including current guidelines, best practices for getting the best uses out of LLMs, and citation. Due to the focus of this class, students should be prepared to experiment with LLMs in class, though their use will not be a substitute for students' own essays in the class.
