Survey of Health Systems is a follow-up elective to Introduction to Health Systems Science. The goal is for students to shadow administrators at various healthcare practices to compare and contrast. The focus will be on understanding common threads and differences between types of practices and deepening understanding of practicing high-value care.
No graduate credit. 2 professional hours. Approved for S/U grading only. Due to the coordination of many faculty to arrange for this elective, at least 1 month is needed to arrange shadowing times before the elective starts and it is strongly encouraged to not drop the elective within 2 weeks of the start date. Prerequisite: Restricted to students enrolled in the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
