An introduction to a set of quantitative tools for risk management. Topics include dependence modeling, risk measures, aggregate loss models, extreme value theory, as well as some other advanced topics in emerging risks and technologies if time permits. Prerequisite: ASRM 401/STAT 408 or STAT 400 or MATH 461. Restricted to graduate students in the Actuarial Science Program. This section meets concurrently with ASRM 499 UQR but requires additional work for the fourth credit.
