A range of topical issues are explored, which may vary from semester to semester, but may include children's artistic development, visual culture and curriculum, the philosophy of art, and cultural studies.

A student registered in one or more Art & Design course(s) exhibiting this message, will be assessed a $95 facility use fee once each term.

Description: This graduate-level course explores the intersection of critical phenomenology, aesthetic philosophy, arts education, and arts-based research. It examines how these philosophical and methodological approaches can transform educational practices in the arts while critically addressing the social and political dimensions of aesthetic experience. Students will engage with foundational concepts in critical phenomenology and aesthetic theory, applying them to investigate artistic experiences within educational contexts. This course welcomes all students from the Graduate College. Restriction(s): Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
