Surveys the changing landscape of news in America to understand trends, challenges and opportunities in news and the implications of those changes for how news is produced and distributed. Explores how to evaluate news sources, outlets and platforms and to explain how technology and economics shape the news.

Prerequisite: Restricted to Journalism major(s).
