Credit: 2 hours.

The student enrolled in this elective will be exposed to caring for neonates in the Carle Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Students will participate and present in daily rounds, attend deliveries, and assist with procedures. Students will learn basic principles of neonatal care, as well as the diagnosis and management of common neonatal pathology.

No graduate credit. 2 professional hours. Approved for S/U grading only. Prerequisite: Restricted to students in Phase 2 or Phase 3 of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine curriculum.
