Section Info:
Mobile Genetic Element Evolution: This course will explore the movement of functional genes (for AMR, metal resistance, virulence, toxin, symbiosis) among microbes in microbial ecosystems on mobile genetic elements. We will focus on the genomic epidemiology of plasmids carrying antibiotic resistance because this is of broad interest, and there is lots of genomic data and papers to investigate deeply. This course will meet in IGB 3410 and on Zoom.
