Students will use design thinking to develop innovative solutions tailored to the challenges of immersive experiences spanning diverse industries. 75920	Lecture-Discussion	TDC	4:00PM -6:50PM	W	Location Pending	James, C Schultz, A	Part of Term: B Date Range: 03/11/24-05/01/24 Credit: 2 hours Section Title: DT & Teaching Concepts Section Info: Design Thinking & Teaching Disciplinary Concepts: This course provides an overview of human-centered design as an instructional approach to help students learn and master disciplinary concepts. Throughout the 8-week course, you will learn about human-centered design and the processes and practices so that you can design instructional experiences for students that engage them in discipline-based design challenges and the HCD approach. By the end of the course, you will have a plan for teaching students about HCD. You’ll also have hands-on experience designing a discipline-based design challenge and implementing it in your classroom. *It is highly recommended that those enrolled in this course have access to K-12 or adult students in a classroom, after-school program, extra-curricular, library setting, or equivalent.
