In this elective we will apply principles and tools of operations management to explore improvement opportunities in the design, delivery, and management of the health care value chain. We will be examining the health care operation from the perspective of operations metrics such as: cost, quality, time (access), and variety/customization.

No graduate credit. 4 professional hours. Approved for S/U grading only. Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine Phase 1 curriculum. Restricted to students enrolled in Phase 2 or Phase 3 of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine curriculum.
