Public Relations and the Entertainment Industry

Credit: 3 hours.

This course explores historic and current strategies for developing and executing public relations campaigns for media. The class will identify emergent marketing techniques in promoting entertainment media through digital platforms and branded storytelling. The course will also critically evaluate the role of entertainment institutions and celebrity culture in blurring the line between publicity and art.

3 undergraduate hours. No graduate credit. Credit is not given for MACS 463 if credit for MACS 364: PR & Entertainment Industry has been earned.
