It offers an overview of the FinTech and InsurTech ecosystems, various innovations in digital banking, trading and insurance. The course provides elementary reviews of technical foundations, such as "big data", textual analysis, blockchain, cryptocurrencies and disruptive business models. If time permits, regulatory challenges in FinTech and InsurTech shall be also discussed. Restriction(s): Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign. Restricted to MS: Actuarial Science - UIUC or MS:PA Risk Mgmt - UIUC.
