Section Info:
How and when does a still or moving photographic image make an evidentiary claim? When is that claim admissible in court? When is that claim more powerfully articulated outside of a courtroom? What role do fiction, memory, reenactment, and deep fakes play in the construction of evidence? This graduate seminar investigates the status of still and moving images as evidence, with a focus on the late 20th and 21st centuries.
