The study of first and second language acquisition by children and adults. Course topics will include the following: first language acquisition, including signed and spoken languages; bilingualism and second language acquisition; the comparison of monolingual and bilingual language development.

3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: An introductory course in linguistics or psychology.
