Introduction to Cultural Analysis: French Identities

Credit: 3 hours.

Introduction to concepts of and debates on French national identity. Materials are drawn from a multiplicity of media and from many spheres of modern life in France: political, artistic, the everyday, etc. Identification of major resources for the study of culture and analysis of diverse cultural texts. Strengthening of reading, writing and speaking skills in French through a wide range of exercises and projects.

Prerequisite: FR 207.
