Measuring Animal Behavior
Section Info:
Prerequisite: Animal Behavior IB329, ANSC 363, or equivalent. Students will explore measurement, analysis, and interpretation of animal behavior and postures in controlled research, field, and clinical applications. Topics covered include: creating and defining ethograms, sampling and recording rules, reliability, validity, analog recording, sensors and equipment for digital recording, data management, recognizing and controlling bias, observation studies, time budgets, sequences and bouts, choice tests and motivation.
