A progressive exploration of varied movement practices designed to support the dance major's ability to ARTICULATE their technical and creative evolution. Students enrolled in Dancing Techniques III and IV should also enroll in DANC 470. This course is an exploration of varied movement practices that build community and ensemble approaches to dancing. To provide a balance of training from a range of cultural origins and traditions, this course will include 2-3 contemporary movement approaches per semester, which may include techniques such as Ballet, Capoeira, Contemporary Modern, Hip Hop, House, Improvisation, Jazz, Tap, Umfundalai, West African, etc. Specific dance forms for each semester will be listed in the class schedule.

1 undergraduate hour. 1 graduate hour. May be repeated in separate terms. Prerequisite: Must have passing grade in two semesters of DANC 260 or graduate standing. Restricted to juniors, seniors, and graduate students in Dance or consent of instructor.
