Topic: Pedagogies of Liberation in the Arts. This course offers an exploration of theories and practices of liberatory pedagogies in the arts. How can we empower our students and ourselves within institutional settings founded in exclusionary practices? Where do we find communities and solidarities to sustain this work? What can we do to resist and rebel against institutional co-option? In this course, students will engage in readings, discussions, activities, and making related to acts of liberation. All students from the Graduate College are welcome.
