An approach to the evaluation of real estate investment opportunities. Begins with the identification of the investor's goals and ends with an investment decision. Considers legal, physical, locational, and financial constraint, aggregate real estate and financial markets, tax considerations and investment criteria.

3 undergraduate hours. No graduate credit. Prerequisite: FIN 300 or consent of the instructor, FIN 241 is recommended but not required.

Introduces basic underwriting and evaluation techniques for commercial real estate investments. We will start slowly, learning to build basic investment models, and explore progressively more complex opportunities. The singular goal is to establish competence through concept understanding and skill development. Seating is limited for this course.
