Communication and Culture

Studies theories and methods for identifying culture and identities in everyday talk. Addresses cultural variability in ways of speaking that depend on and produce context; negotiating interactions; and displaying, evaluating, and inferring identities (e.g., gender, ethnic, national, class, generational, peer group, regional, political).
