Direct analysis of scientific foundations for engineering research. Directed readings, analytical discussion, and writing on select topics from philosophy, history, and sociology of science. Student-led exploration of additional topics linked to scientific engineering research. Final individual project: analysis and critique of a selected set of contemporary engineering research products that are related to student interests.
