Learning Exp in South Africa
Section Info:
Volunteer Experience in Cape Town, South Africa. Eight-week preparatory course examines history, economics, and political events leading up to the demise of the apartheid system, including the role of African youth in the struggle. Experience in Cape town includes intensive study, discussion, field trips and experience with local cultural events, as well as volunteer work with community organizations and care of chronically ill children and those orphaned by the AIDS crisis. Instructor approval required. For application details, go to UIUC Study Abroad website. The name of the program is ACES Faculty Led Program: Service Learning, Child, Family, Health and Agriculture in South Africa. Additional cost is approximately $6,500.00. Approximate travel dates December 27, 2022 through January 15, 2023.
