Transportation Economics
Section Info:
Prerequisite: CEE 310 or permission of instructor. Students who have taken other courses with substantial economics material related to urban systems, such as ECON 413 or UP 509. The trade-offs and constraints that public agencies face when they provide or regulate transportation, as well as how individuals’ choices explain collective phenomena, such as rush-hours. Abstract models, optimization problems and real-life case studies. Students will learn to use concepts and vocabulary from transportation economics to see the logic underlying real transportation systems and to communicate ways to improve those systems.
