T&M Global Bus Practices&Trip
Section Info:
Leaders across all industries in the private and public sectors are leveraging new insights and technology to stabilize and grow their operations in the post-pandemic global economy. This course explores how to perform core business functions in locations around the globe, as managers and leaders work to understand customer needs, test and build new offerings and balance short-term success with long-term business viability. In this eight-week course, T&M students collaborate in an international, multidisciplinary, team-based environment to apply skills in different business contexts. T&M students will travel to Brazil in May 2022 to experience Brazilian culture and explore the country's business landscape. Students will participate in classroom activities, tour host company facilities and experience Brazilian cultural and social events. Through corporate visits and discussions with in-class guests, students will study the impact of technology and innovation on the Brazilian marketplace. A separate Study Abroad application for the trip is required by Feb.15th.

T&M Global Immersion Trip Braz
Section Info:
T&M seniors who have previously completed BADM 199 may participate in the Spring 2022 international immersion trip to Brazil through this course. Students will participate in 2-3 virtual prep sessions in late spring, to be arranged. These sessions will focus on travel logistics and required safety briefings and are required to be completed before our group leaves the country. The trip to Brazil is currently slated for late May with a separate Study Abroad application for the trip due by February 15th.

Civil Discourse
Section Info:
Leadership is comprised of many components. One of which is having conversations that may be uncomfortable over topics that are controversial. For undergraduates only, this course will cover a wide range of topics that will provoke thought, understanding, and interactive discussion. The course has four main objectives. First, this course will equip students to critically analyze difficult issues from multiple viewpoints. Second, this course will develop students’ ability to articulate well- considered opinions in a non-threatening way. Third, this course will raise awareness of the importance of nuanced and respectful conversations around difficult issues. Lastly, this course will grow students’ empathy for others who hold opinions that deviate from their own. BUSINESS MINORS: Monday, November 15th at approximately 10 a.m., this elective section will open to Business Minors.This is not available to PhD students.

This course will cover peer coaching models,Gies academic curriculum and policies, and communication skills to prepare students for the Gies Peer Advising Program. Students are expected to be active learners as this class will utilize discussion, role plays, and practice advising meeting to strengthen coaching skillsets and reinforce advising knowledge. This course will also cover how to describe the transferable competencies gained in this course to internship and career search.
