***The BADM 395-BDI Big Data Infrastructure course is an ISIT/IS Major Elective (Choose Two of the Following) course. The BADM 395-BDI Big Data Infrastructure course is also an ISIT/IS Program Elective (Choose Four of the Following) course. The BADM 395-BDI course cannot fulfill both the ISIT/IS (Choose Two of the Following) and the (Choose Four of the Following) elective requirements. This course provides students to get a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of big data platforms, engineering, data structures and algorithms for both operational and analytical use cases. Experimenting end to end pipelines on cloud platforms from data collection to presenting data driven insights for a nontechnical audience. Students will have the opportunity to understand both relational, analytical databases and NoSQL databases on the cloud as well as on premise from real-life datasets while leveraging programmatic or configuration driven data pipelines. This course will open to all students in the Gies College of Business on Monday, November 15, 2021.

As information technology grows and its applications expand, so do security threats and data breaches. In this course, students will be introduced to key managerial and technical aspects of information security with a constant focus on frameworks and techniques for effectively detecting, managing and mitigating information security threats.
