This course will provide students with an intense review of core financial planning topic areas with the goal of preparing students to sit for the FINRA SIE, FINRA Series 65 and CFP® Exams. The course will prepare students to take professional exams by reviewing exam strategy as well as providing a critical overview of financial planning fundamentals, ethics, time value of money, education funding, risk management, investment, estate planning, retirement planning and income tax. All students should have taken at least three core financial planning courses (ACE240, ACE345, ACE346, ACE440, ACE444, ACE445, ACE449, ACE398RM, ACE398EP or FIN230) prior to registering.

This course introduces students to advanced spreadsheet models and applications using Microsoft Excel data tools and VBA. It explores connections to external databases, PivotTables, and Custom Functions, and using VBA to extract data from webpages. Examples in this course will center on trends in interest rates and employment. The Final Project is a student-created Monte-Carlo simulation. Prerequisite: ACE 360 or comparable Intermediate Excel course or permission of the instructor.
