Continuation of CHEM 232 focuses on advanced organic chemistry synthesis, mechanisms, and history, and its applications to peptide and protein sciences, carbohydrate chemistry, and DNA structure, repair and enzymatic processes.

Credit is not given for both CHEM 332 and CHEM 436. This course should not be taken by students who have completed CHEM 236. Prerequisite: CHEM 232 and CHEM 233.

This is a self-contained 4 credit hour online course. Students in this online course do not register for a quiz section. This section will have one or more proctored online exams which may carry additional fees. Proctoring options include fee-based ProctorU, approved proctoring centers, and approved testing facilities that carry no fees. The following information is provided in an effort to help you better plan your academic (course) schedule for the semester: The course content (lecture material) will be asynchronous, which means that there will be pre-recorded lecture materials and other resources available through Compass 2G that you can consume as your schedule permits. The testing will be synchronous, which means that you will get tested during many of our scheduled Lecture times (9-10+am on Mondays – Thursdays). Make absolutely sure that you Do Not willingly/knowingly create obligations in your schedule that conflict/overlap with the days/times assigned to our course. For example, the four on-line, exams (45-minutes in duration each) and the on-line, Final Exam (45-minutes in duration) will be available only during the days/times that the university has assigned to our course. Since the exams are offered during the regularly scheduled, in-class days/times, there are No Conflict Exams. There are No Make-up Exams – Instead, you get to drop your one (single) lowest exam score.
