TOPIC TITLE: "Advanced Seminar in Applied Phonology" The aim of this course is to examine the intersection of phonology research and applied linguistics in order to evaluate and design applied phonology research projects. This course focuses primarily on phonology and its relationship with pronunciation: e.g., SLA, pronunciation teaching, language variation (such as world Englishes), and bilingualism. Other potential course foci include, but are not limited to, phonology applied to psycholinguistics, sociophonetics, neurolinguistics, and pragmatics.
