May be repeated with approval to a maximum of 6 undergraduate hours in same term, or to a maximum of 9 undergraduate hours in subsequent terms. Prerequisite: PSYC 238 or PSYC 239 or both depending on topic.

Multiculturalism in Clinical-Community Research and Practice- Multiculturalism is a popular topic and as aspiring psychologists it is important to stay up to date with its meaning and implications: personally, as a helping professional, in your research, and in your practice. In this course, we will discuss and define multiculturalism, understand individuals and your own reactions to multiculturalism, and discuss foundational frameworks that guide diverse approaches to integrating multiculturalism in clinical and community research and practice. This course involves reading required assignments, active class participation, and consistent completion of writing activities. Final grading for this course will be based on points earned for active class participation, completing assigned readings, writing assignments, literature reviews, topic development proposals, a final paper proposal, and a final individual poster presentation. Senior priority enrollment begins December 1st. Junior priority enrollment begins December 4th. All restrictions lifted at 9:00 am on December 7th. **Elective course for Clinical/Community or Intradisciplinary Psychology Concentration**
