Teaches students to apply principles of professional communication to the writing tasks typical of specific disciplines or professions. Assignments will vary, depending on the focus of the course, but will include a substantial report or project.

Credit is not given for both BTW 263 and either BTW 250 or BTW 261. Prerequisite: Junior standing and completion of campus Composition I requirement.

Creative Game Design takes your game from concept to online launch in a single semester. Using Unity 3D game engine, you will explore both the artistry of storytelling and world building. You'll design an original game, and write proposals, game manuals, and instructional guides. Overall, you'll gain hands-on experience in programming and 3D design and sharpen your writing skills in areas such as word choice, editing, drafting, and awareness of your audience. Prior experience in programming is not necessary, and all majors are welcome. Ready player one?

Section Info:
Students will build a professional online web presence, study digital cultures, and familiarize themselves with social media management techniques and software designed for 21st century environments. Many hands-on activities are planned for the class, including learning audio, visual, and video editing techniques as well as website development and design. In satisfying the advanced composition requirement, students will create social media campaigns, write search engine optimization reports, write reports that visualize data, and design business cards that use augmented reality.
