A graduate-level course on cognitive communication disorders associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and dementia. It is intended to provide students with a better understanding of the role of clinicians and researchers in the assessment and management of TBI and dementia. Content areas include cognitive correlates of communication; clinical characteristics of TBI, mild cognitive impairment, and a range of dementia; and interdisciplinary assessment and treatment of cognitive communication disorders with an emphasis on evidence-based practice.
4 graduate hours. No professional credit. Prerequisite: Restricted to graduate students.
