Curtis Quick, J	Part of Term: 1 Date Range: 01/21/20-05/06/20 Credit: 3 hours Section Title: Marine & Coastal Conserv Mgmt Section Info: This course will explore the importance of our marine and coastal resources and the challenges in sustainable exploitation. The impacts humans have on these systems will be examined across scales, species to ecosystems,with a particular emphasis on tropical species and locations. We will examine a range of anthropogenic impacts and conservation and marine spatial planning strategies used to mitigate them. Throughout the course we will critically assess the data and tools available to managers of these systems.We will explore the management actions from the view point of multiple stakeholder groups.The students will have the opportunity for discussion and debate on a range of topical marine and coastal issues.
