This course provides students with an overview of motor development across the life span as well as an introduction to the discipline of motor behavior/control. Specifically, it focuses on the concepts and principles of coordination, the control of movement, and development of skilled action throughout the life span. The course focuses on such topics as the development of fundamental movement activities; movement control processes; acquisition, retention and transfer skill; and the role of constraints to action.
