Study of advanced topics in the Hebrew language, based upon a selection of Hebrew literature from either the Bible or the modern period. Historical and cultural background of the material will be stressed, together with literary analysis. In certain years, the course will be offered as a course using English translation of texts, with separate discussion section for students who want to read texts in the original.

3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. May be repeated in the same or subsequent semesters to a maximum of 9 hours, if topics vary. Prerequisite: HEBR 205 or HEBR 406 or consent of instructor.
