Exploration of a variety of subjects about the European Union and EU-US relations and comparative perspectives. This transatlantic relationship will be studied via a series of expert lectures offered by University of Illinois faculty and visiting scholars.

This graduate-level seminar is a roundtable discussion exploring a variety of topics related to Europe, transatlantic relations, the European Union, and the peripheries. Students will have an opportunity to participate in regular conversations about topics related to Europe, the EU and transatlantic relations in the news. Issues will range from cultural policies, politics, terrorism, economic policies, bureaucratic politics, labor policies, electoral processes, sports, popular culture and so forth. The seminar aims to improve students? analytical and critical skills. Students will be encouraged to talk about their research as well as the instructors.
