Even More Practice (EMP) is a one-credit course designed for CS 125 students who think that they might benefit from extra practice and instruction. Students will receive help analyzing algorithms; solving computational problems; and understanding, writing, and debugging computer programs. Examples will be drawn from material covered in CS 125. Basic imperative, object-oriented, and functional programming concepts in Kotlin—a modern statically-typed general purpose programming language with strong type inference. Covers topics similar to CS 125 but only requires completing daily homework problems—no quizzes, machine project, labs, or participation. Prerequisites: Programming experience at the level of CS 125. This course will open in the first week after classes start.

Topic: Learning how to design student assessments In this course, students will learn how to design quality online assessments that are reliable and robust, while also interesting and relevant. They will meet with faculty on a weekly basis to go over assessment design principles, and will get continuous feedback for improvement.
