Section Info:
Provide a deeper understanding of the methodological and underlying philosophical issues that arise in science, and inspire to reflection on such issues within the student’s own area of study. Introduction to the development of science, research ethics, scientific papers and peer review. Philosophy underlying methods of hypothesis testing, causes and correlations, observations and measurements, experiments, models, explanations and laws. Note: This course is restricted to students in the M.Eng. in Railway Engineering program and consists of material delivered by KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden in KTH course AK2036 Theory and Methodology of Science during POT A.
