Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated to 3 hours in a semester, up to a maximum of 12 total hours. Credit is not given for more than a total of 12 hours of Independent Study (IND) courses applying to a degree in ACES. Prerequisite: Junior standing and consent of instructor.

The course will prepare students to take professional exams by reviewing exam strategy as well as providing a critical overview of financial planning fundamentals, ethics, time value of money, education funding, risk management, investment, estate planning, retirement planning and income tax. All students should have taken at least three core financial planning courses (ACE240, ACE345, ACE346, ACE440, ACE444, ACE445, ACE449, ACE398RM, ACE398EP or FIN230) prior to registering. Restriction(s): Restricted to students with Junior or Senior class standing.
