This course is designed to familiarize the student with the basic principles of food supply disease control. The first half of the course is designed to enhance the student's ability to detect disease with observation of necropsy lesions at the gross level. The second half of the course will cover immunizations and the judicious use of antimicrobials. 1 graduate hour. 1 professional hour.
Prerequisites: VCM 690 or permission of the instructor if a graduate student or house officer.
DVM and graduate students or house officers in food animal related training programs.
