This course gives students who’ve never completed a composition on a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) an opportunity to explore urban and popular music beatmaking (traditionally referred to as instrumental music composition) from a lens of analysis, creativity, and technical understanding, and to apply that creative and technical understanding in producing original music. Students work directly with a music industry professional to produce original music of their own. This course is for beginning DAW users.
