In this course we will read an array of prose works by Seneca the Younger, including the Apocolocyntosis (or Pumpkinification of the Divine Claudius), various Moral Letters, and selections from the philosophical treatises On Anger and On Clememency. Emphasis will be placed on equally on coming to terms with Seneca’s style, ideas, a critiques of imperial excess and tyranny. Meets with 491 U/G
