Section Info:
This seminar takes a historical perspective on ideas about health, disease, and well-being in urban spaces. Focusing mostly on the United States and Europe from the nineteenth-century we will study the ways that modern ideas about urbanization and landscapes intersected with developments in medicine, public health, thinking about the body, and conceptions of health and quality of life.
