Introduction to the study of sedentary behavior and cognition: This course will focus on developing basing understanding of concepts and methods in the study of sedentary behavior and cognitive functions. Students will become familiar with principles of objective assessment of sedentary behavior (accelerometer deployment and basics of data quality assessment) and learn about components of multidimensional construct of sedentary behavior. They will also become familiar with cognitive assessments used in sedentary behavior and cognitive function research.

This course provides students with the necessary word part and compound term memorization, repetition and reinforcement to enable mastery of professional medical terminology. 2ND EIGHT WEEKS: REGISTRATION FOR THIS COURSE WILL CLOSE AT 9 AM ON THE FIRST DAY OF INSTRUCTION. This section will have distributed classroom attendance with supplemental instruction. You will receive an email with specific attendance directives. Exercise Prescription (3 credits): The application of exercise prescription is complex and requires understanding of anatomy and physiology, exercise prescription and exercise psychology. The major emphasis behind this course will be on connecting theory and practice. Students that complete this course will be prepared to work as personal trainers and to write national certification exams, eg. ACE, NASM, ACSM, if they choose to do so.
